TRIED EATING AGAIN TODAY

Opened a can of green beans and took a bite.  Was able to swallow the first bite but the second I had to spit it out and then gargle.  Tasted chemical.

Tried some chocolate ice cream and a taste of coke also.  Was able to ingest more of that than anything I have tried yet.  Still tasted chemical but not as bad.

Might try some soup later.

  1. Does food taste bad to you all the way down, or just in your mouth? I'm wondering if you held your breath and tried a bite of food . . . part of tasting food is how the aroma goes up and around through your nasal passages, so maybe if there is no air flow, there might be less objectionable taste?????

I was putting potato flakes into some homemade bread today, and I thought that maybe something like that would be suitable for you. Without any seasoning, there is very little taste, and you could make the "mashed potato" as thin as you need to let it easily pass down your throat.

I was using Bob's Red Mill brand, but I have seen small packets in the grocery store that might be suitable for you try. Then if it turned out to be unsatisfactory, you wouldn't have invested a lot of money in it. Our stores have the foil packets on sale for a dollar each right now because of Thanksgiving. Maybe your stores will, too.

  2. Thanks for the info. I have tried many different ways of getting food down my throat but it's just not time yet. I'll keep trying.
